On My Plate
| Well, here it is Friday now and where has this week gone? I have spent much time in from of this screen in the past couple of weeks and have been excited at the progress I have made on getting things together for my first draft of Cafe Evoke's business plan. I was going over my financials last night with my father, a financial planner in Oklahoma City, and was brought back to reality, which is a good thing I assure you. We got some things cleared up on my financials however and it is making me more and more excited for opening day. Since I'm SO far ahead of the game (said with hints of sarcasism) my sister decided to fly in from the University of Oklahoma for the weekend. Entertain and budget will be the story of the weekend. I have learned some valuable things in teh past day though. If you are way to optimistic, you will end up under capitalized and fail. I am trying to be a bit conservative with my planning. If I riase $75,000 in capital and don't use it, no problem. Its better to have extra than get strangled without enough. I was told by a wise man, "Cash is the lifeblood of any small business" and I will admit, it is hard to look at your bottom line and see that there is only $50,000, ok, I admit, less, after year one.....I KNOW I can pull $200,000!
