A Thought about Grants

We have been talking about financing around here and trying to figure out how much and where the money will come from to capitalize Cafe Evoke. We know how much personal investment we can put in and we think it will end up being about half of what we will need when it is all said and done.. We are going to try and raise a few dollars here and there from family and friends (if you would like to help, you can donate through the links on the sidebar!), and then go to the banks for debt financing. We then came across a few grants that are given to coffee shops around the country and decided that, although very competitive and hard to get, this type of funding could be very helpful in our business. That would allow us to only borrow a small, short-term loan from the banks which would be a lot less risky for them. Does anyone have any information regarding grants, or know of any grants that are looking for start-up buisnesses? I would love to hear about them! ~~be bold.
