WiFi versus The Community

Do we have to make this a competition? It is true that no matter where you go these days, yes including McDonalds, you find wireless internet and in most cases, free of charge. I found this post over at The Coffee Odyssey that talks about some of the issues that cafes providing WiFi might be incountering... "There's really two issues here. One is the obvious question of whether some number of customers are abusing a free service. The other, and arguably more thorny issue, is whether WiFi promotes solitary, insulating activity in a public space that's better suited to building community." I have found that these wireless hotspots allow the shop to be used by more and more poeple. You can have meetings for business, school, and even business planning when the internet is at your fingertips. Yes, I would love for EVoke to be a place in which the internet is used but also a place "where everybody knows your name.."
