![]() Today and yesterday we were in the lab learning about the different machines and techniques that are required to operate them properly and pull a great cup of espresso. We got to work on 3 brand new machines and grinders which was great because it helped us learn the differences and also find out which machine we like and want to buy for Cafe Evoke. Today we will be talking about blender drinks and iced drinks. Although there is alot to take in 5 days, this school has been worth every penny we paid to attend. I have learned how and when to adjust the grind in the espresso grinder, how to change the burrs in the grinders, how to perform daily maintance and cleaning of the machines and more. I have also learned what to listen for while steaming milk and, although I need to build on this technique, will be able to steam milk almost silently, created a smooth and silky milk for the espresso drinks we serve at Cafe Evoke. We are learning alot and we will continue to learn more today and tomorrow. More to come later... ~~be bold |
