Turbulence

I have been in contact with our leasing agent and backer for the second lease we have been working on and it is on thin ice it seems. There are a few terms that MUST be changed if this is going to go on and with the history of this leasing company, I am a bit nervous about them changing to help us.

I hope to know something more tomorrow but for those starting a business and trying to find space, keep this type of thing in mind. Big leasing companies do not care about your size or history, they want what they want and will not give in to any of your request..at least it seems. You have to keep pushing on. It will be important, here, to make sure that we do not give in to something that will hurt us in the future.

Patience is key in this type of situation.

Hang in there - we've had many of the same issues starting our toy store with the "big leasing company" acting as if they were are only option. The key is to be tough and play yourself up to the extent that it may appear that you do have other options.
