    #41. Bozeman, Montana

    Bozeman commonly makes top 10 lists, especially the ones in ski magazines that rave about the area's three premium resorts.

    A little more shocking, at least to those in the Silicon Valley, is Bozeman's ranking among mid-size towns regarding free wireless Internet.

    We're No. 1, according to metrofreefi.com.

    Bozeman Montana made MetroFreeFI.com's top 100 unwired cities list. This was not a list of small towns or even mid sized cites (Bozeman was number 1 in these categories). This was a list that included Austin, Kansas City, Oakland, etc. The top 5 cities came in as follows:
    1. USA » CA » San Francisco (442)
    2. USA » IL » Chicago (220)
    3. USA » WA » Seattle (106)
    4. USA » CA » Palo Alto (105)
    5. USA » GA » Atlanta (95)
    I was reading this MSNBC.com article that interviewed some local business owners who offer such hotspots and people in this town were not surprised.
    Area business owners who offer free Wi-Fi weren't as surprised as the Californians about topping the list. This is, after all, a fairly progressive college town, they said.

    "Bozeman is really advanced," said Chris Bombeck, owner of International Coffee Traders on South 10th Avenue. "It seems like more often than not people require this technology.


    Way to go Bozeman. We are soon to be able to add another hotspot to this list: Cafe Evoke.
