Fair Trade at the Grocery Store
| My mom came back from the grocery store yesterday with some fresh Fair Trade coffee for us to drink while we are here. I was very excited of course to see this and made a cup right away. I then saw a Fair Trade handout that appeared to come with the coffee. I asked her where she got it and she said she got it from the store when she bought the coffee. I was very impressed as grocery stores typically get the cold nod when it comes to fresh coffee. The handout was from TransFair USA and had a list of 5 ways that I can help change the world. The list is as follows: 1. Buy only Fair Trade Certified coffee. The other side of this handout talks about what Fair Trade is all about. I am very impressed that she got this from a grocery store (well done Crescent Market in Oklahoma City). If we can get all grocery stores to pass out this information, it will put a large dent in the population that does not know about Fair Trade and its benefits to the people who produce this important product.
