Update..

Our week ended on a bright note as I met with a person who lives in the north east neighborhood. We had a chance to discuss the area and how Cafe Evoke could serve the people of this community. I feel that our values and goals match up very well. The biggest concern for this area seems to be traffic. We are now working on ways that Cafe Evoke can help minimize the amount of car traffic (or speed of this traffic) when we open. I decided that the best way for us to talk to the people of this community would be to hold a sort of community meeting. This would give us a chance to share our mission, goals, and values to the neighborhood. We would also like to list some of the issues we feel this area is going to have to deal with and how we can help back them when they go to the city. We would invite a few people from the City Planners office so if people have questions that are concerns for the city, they can be answered. We would also serve coffee and use this time as a chance to get to know as many people as possible and pass out our informational brochure. We are still weeks away from being able to do this but we will need this time to make arrangements and figure out how to go about setting this up.
