Cafe Evoke Catering
| We are about to serve our third weekend event at Journey Church in Bozeman in which we set up for their Saturday night and Sunday morning services as a cash bar. It is nice to have the weekly event as it gives us a chance to market and also have guaranteed work each week. We have not had any calls or emails created by the marketing materials we handed out to different stores around town but I think it is just going to take some more time. We have had many people talk about it but I feel that we should be doing more to get in the community. We did have a friend tell us that they saw a car in town with our sticker on the back window. I was excited as it was not my car that she saw! I am not concerned of the lack of emails or phone calls yet as we are paying our bills each week with the weekend events but it will be very nice to begin getting calls and emails asking for information. We are trying a new certified organic and Fair Trade coffee roasted here in Bozeman for this weekend. The nice thing is that they fit everything we are about at Cafe Evoke -- organic, fairly traded, and local. I have been drinking their coffee for awhile as it is served as my favorite cafe here in town so I thought it was worth a try. We have been using Bongo Java Roasting Company out of Nashville for the past events but with the small amounts that we need, it is hard to have a roaster so far away. Yellowstone Coffee Roasters deliver our coffee the day after we order -- free of charge -- which not only helps our bottom line, it allows us to interact with them and hopefully create a long term relationship. We can also call them if an event pops up and get coffee very quickly without paying for next day air shipping. The roaster is also very interested in our catering operation as they have had people asking for that service since they started business -- 15 years ago. I have been checking online and have seen many different coffee catering operations across the country ranging from full service kiosks to small tables. I still feel good about how our set up looks and feels and think we have something good going. I would like to get another of the tables to put on the other side of our cart but that will have to wait until we have some money in the bank. Maybe next week will be the week. We are trying not to sit back and wait for people to come to us so I hope the materials around the community spark some interest. I will keep you informed. ..be bold |

post a commentCongratulations on making Cafe Evoke a reality. It sounds like it's been a long haul to get there.
I live down the street from a coffee shop that roasts its own beans and the aroma it sends around the neighbourhood is the best advertising!
I hope you'll post some pics of the set-up in action... and when is the website going live?
Hello and thank you for reading A Thought Over Coffee! It has been a long road and we are still on it but it is a start and we are very excited.
You can view one picture of our set up here and I hope to have more up as we have more events.
The new front page will be up in a matter of days (probably about a week) but the full site is still about 2-3 months out -- unfortunatly. We are trying to do it write and the designers are quite busy right now. This blog will begin to serve as our site for the time being as we will post our menus and information on it.
Thanks again and please keep reading as we value your input!
