Weekend Wrap-UP

We had a pretty slow weekend for Cafe Evoke Catering but still paid our bills and broke even. I have to keep telling myself that we have only been "up and running" for 3 weeks now and that it takes times. I sent a few emails on Saturday to some different people around town in hopes that it will spark some interested in Cafe Evoke Catering and help us get some business. The first email was sent to some people who own the Rocking TJ Ranch here in Bozeman. This ranch is a day spa with full catering kitchen and reception hall that many people use for weddings and other big events. I have heard great things about the family who owns it and the place seems to be great. The second email was to a few people I know who have art galleries in downtown Bozeman. Each month, many of the towns in Montana have Gallery Walks in which the galleries are open late (9:30ish pm) and serve free wine and light snacks to people as they walk around. Although people mostly go for the free wine, it would be a nice way for us to get involved with the art of this town. I have a few other ideas to expand on this week -- 2 different Farmer's Markets, a few community events, some new caterers -- and hope to have some letters and packets made up for realtors and banks in town. All of this is in hopes that we will be the go to for any event these groups put together. We are also hoping to get involved with the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce. With seminars and networking events monthly, it would not only be good for Cafe Evoke Catering in a marketing sense, it would also help Jenni and I run the business properly and stay connected to other business owners. I think I wrote before that Jenni attended one of these events and had a great time. I hope to be looking into that further this week.
