    Email Marketing Campaign

In addition to the Google AdWords Campaign I started at the beginning of the week, I have decided to create an email marketing campaign that will target the wedding customers we have been talking to through the month of January. Although February was supposed to be the beginning of the corporate marketing, I have found myself working in the wedding stuff still (it feels never ending!).

My plan for this campaign is to use the list of people we got from the two bridal shows and send them a nice, clean and creative "newsletter" that will be sent a month and a half before their event - again, trying to get Cafe Evoke Catering in front of them while they are neck deep in their planning.

My new customer management program will give me the ability to created that "to-do" list so that I will know who to send emails to and at what time. This will not take the place of a mailer but I think will be a nice addition to our marketing force.

I recently found Tornado Email which sounds like an easy to use program that could help me design the really nice campaigns. The owner happens to be a coffee drinker which also adds to the package. My plan is to get in contact with him and find out the ins and outs and hopefully make a decision by the end of next week.

Another reader referred me to three other email campaign managers -- ActiveCampaign, AWeber, and IntelliContact. I have not had a chance to really dive into any of those yet but this weekend (as Monday is a holiday) should give me some time to get that done.

At this point, I need to find the program with the easiest to use interface at the lowest cost. I am trying to get back to my bootstrapping days and need to watch where each penny is going.

Marketing is not a cheap part of business so it is important to be able to track what campaigns are working. I will probably create a wedding coupon code that will be included with each email so that if someone books an event, I will know which ad refereed them to us.

Have any other ideas for me? Let me know!

    ..be bold

Hey Jason, Chris from Tornado is a personal friend and a great guy (and runs an awesome blog over at Brainfuel.tv). If he can't help you directly, he can definitely point you in the right direction.
