So, did we acutally break even and what is next?

I know I left everyone "hanging" with my my last post about breaking even. Well, the numbers are in...

We did. Two months straight.

I was very excited to see that and it seemed that we were just going to be getting more and more busy with each day that passed. Unfortunately, we have hit more slow times. Most of the bigger clients we have begun working with have a few events per year but most will not be happening again until December or January, 2008.

So what does this mean for Cafe Evoke Catering? We are looking for cheap and creative ways to get our name in front of new clients. Our yellow pages ad comes out in November so I am excited to see how that works and we have elected not to go with Montana Bride this year. It is a great publication but it did not provide even a single phone call. I think it is good for us to be in it but even better for us to find ways to really "show" people what we do.

So, I am creating full page "flyers" that will go up on boards across Bozeman and we are still sending out media kits and information to as many people as we can.

Anyway you look at it, marketing a new business concept to an area where competition does not exist is tough. We are giving it our best shot.

Wow. Time does not stand still.

So - yes - I am alive. So - yes - Cafe Evoke Catering is still in business. So - yes - we are still trudging forward.

I took about a month off from blogging. To be honest, I was tired of writing and tired of seeing our progress in print form. I think partly because we are not where I want to be, partly because it makes me live in reality, and partly because it takes so much time and effort to keep this thing going.

Well, I am finally starting to feel like talking. It is like coming home from your first year of college - comfortable.

There is so much to write about. I am not sure where to begin. Here are a few terms that come to mind when I think of all the things that have not been written..

Bad restaurant coffee
Oklahoma City
Breaking even
Slow times
New car, old car
Problems
Solutions
Granita
Coffee Fest Seattle

So, if you can image all of those with at least one post, you can see what is to come. So, starting tomorrow, I will begin going through all of those "terms" and telling you what has been going on with our business, with our lives, and with our futures (well, sort of).

I needed a break. Will you stay with me? This blog is now going to be in need of readers, in need of content, and in need of life.

Let's get back to where we left off....
