The time has come again - which is hard to believe - to Plant the Plaza! The Plaza District Association works hard to make this a place that everyone loves to be and we think it has been working!  We see so many of our friends now walking the district each week and weekend and it gets SLAMMED for Live on the Plaza and other promoted events.  Are you one of those people that loves to call the Plaza District home for your evening hang out?

Now, it is your turn to help us get read for another year of awesome events, people and things.  So, this is where we as you to help us out! Here is the scoop:

Plant the Plaza April 30th, 9am-1pm (2 shifts)

Spring is near, and the Plaza District is gearing up for a beautiful season. Help the Plaza District Association “Plant the Plaza” by volunteering your time or your dollars to our spring beautification! We need volunteers for Saturday, April 30th from 9am-1pm (2 shifts available). We will be planting, weeding and cleaning the district! Additionally, we are looking to raise funds to purchase needed materials for the event, such as soil, mulch, landscape materials and volunteer supplies. Please use the links below to donate your time or dollars…both are appreciated!!

You can DONATE (<- click!) or SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER (<- click!) online.  Need some help getting out of bed that morning? You are in luck!  When you volunteer to help us get the Plaza District looking good, you are invited to a COFEE PARTY to help get the time started! That’s FREE lattes, mochas, cappuccinos and handbrewed coffees just as a thank you!

So, here is how it works:

1. Sign up or donate (links are above)

2. Head down to the Plaza and stop by 1708 and Cafe Evoke Catering for a Free Coffee and hang out for a bit to wake up.

3. Pick weeds, plant flowers, help us freshen up

4. Get home, clean up and head to Norman for music!

Sounds like a good day to us!  Last time we checked, we were 17 people short! We have seen how many people like hanging out here, let’s try to bridge that gap. See you Saturday, April 30th!

18th Annual Cafe City Arts // Tonight!

Café City Arts is one of Oklahoma City’s most exciting parties, and a great way keep up the energy that comes with the hope of a new year! The annual celebration is both party and art sale. In addition to an open bar and food from some of the metro area’s finest and newest restaurants, the signature event (7 p.m., January 28) features the extraordinary work of national, regional and emerging artists.

For nearly two decades, proceeds from the fundraiser have enabled year-round visual arts exhibits free of charge to the public. Artists participating in the exhibit donate 50 percent of their art sales income to City Arts Center.

That sounds pretty awesome, right?  Well, Cafe Evoke Catering is happy to be a part of what will prove to be a killer evening of art, sips, eats and tons of other stuff!  We don’t know exactly what to expect for this event but we do know that we will be teamed up with our friends at T, An Urban Tea House.

Now, if you haven’t had tea from T yet (wait, that’s kind of tricky to say..), your missing out.  We like to think of them as the Cafe Evoke of the tea world - bringing the best tea around to Oklahoma.

If you haven’t made plans for this beautiful Friday evening, here is what you  need to know:

Tickets purchased online can be picked up at the Will Call desk the night of the event. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event at City Arts Center for $65 each.

Head HERE to get them online or be sure you are at City Arts Center at the State Fair of Oklahoma and get them at the door.

See you then!
