It has been nearly 3 years since we moved into Oklahoma City’s Plaza District and to the space we called 1708okc - or home.  It was a place that helped shape who we are today and a place that we will look back on as a vital part to our future success.  It was a place that we met tons of new people, threw tons of parties and talked to tons of people about specialty coffee catering at their events.

Winston Churchill said it and we believe it.  Today starts the new chapter in the Cafe Evoke Catering Book of Life.  In fact, it seems that every day we open the door to our office it is a better day than what we had before.  Thanks to you for that!

“There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction” 

Winston Churchill said it and we believe it. Running a small business is a blast, 99.9% of the time. Until you, as owner and chief, need to make a tough decision. For over two years we have had the privilege of calling the Plaza District home. Our neighbors have become friends and eventually family. We love and support everything that the Plaza is doing in our great city and while it is hard to say goodbye to 1708 we feel that now is the time to chase down some larger plans for Evoke in Oklahoma and beyond.

Let us be VERY clear! We are NOT closing our doors. We will STILL be serving the world’s best coffees to Oklahoma’s best events! We are just making the hard decision to downsize the amount of administration space we have been using in order to bring you an even better and more flexible Cafe Evoke Catering. We have so much on our vision board that we can’t wait to share with you; just not quite yet.

We will continue to support the Plaza and encourage you to continue to pour into this great community!  If you haven’t already, we’d love it if you went online and signed up for our newsletter.  As we begin to have things to share, this will be the way we will announce it first.

Cafe Evoke Catering

This Monday, we will be setting up a coffee bar at our place - 1708okc - and need you to come by and hang out!  We are going to shoot a short little promo video and want it to be of folks drinking our coffee and having a good time.  No interviews and nothing staged: just people hanging out drinking FREE coffee.

Here are the details:

1. Be here around 7:00p (it will probably last till 9:00p or so at the latest).  Here is 1708 NW 16th Street.  

2. Remember that this will turn in to a video so dress accordingly!

3. Bring friends! 

4. Have fun!

Again, we have NO idea what we will use this video for but we do know that we like hanging out with friends and drinking coffee so even that will make the evening worth it!  Think of it as a Free Coffee Monday or something.
